This year, we successfully launched our charity volunteering programme, which is designed to encourage all employees to help local charities through a variety of volunteering activities. LDF are proud to be a Responsible Business and working with local Flintshire and Chester charities is an encouraging step to help further develop our relationships within the local area.
For the first of our volunteering activities, LDF employees joined the Flintshire Rangers at Wepre Park, A 160 acre Country Park in Connah’s Quay. During the day the team were involved in a number of woodland improvements including tree surgery, litter picking and overall park maintenance.
On their return, the LDF team were in high-spirits, expressing their delight of the day with added realisation on the work Flintshire Rangers undertake for the local community.

"Having been to the park several times with my children it was a pleasure to give something back and help the Rangers with their day to day work, you really don't know how much there is to do until you get involved." - Steve Brereton
"I really enjoyed my day; it was just as I expected it to be. I thought Sarah was very good with us all and the tasks were all manageable." - Helen Gent
"An eye opening day helping out a local site I never knew existed. They do so much good; un-appreciated work and it was great to help them out with that." - Stuart Oxton
"An enjoyable volunteering experience assisting Flintshire County Council at Wepre Park with their day to day activities. There’s great coffee and cake in the visitors centre which is a must…" - Graham Sheen
"I totally loved the day out in the fresh-air helping a fabulous park – I didn’t actually realise how much work is needed to maintain these beautiful spaces! I encourage others to get involved." - Dean Renshaw
"I absolutely loved the day and I have a new found respect for the park and the Rangers who work hard to look after it. As a local, you take the park for granted and you never really see what happens behind the scenes, so knowing now exactly what happens has made me consider volunteering for them in my own time." - Josh Morgan
